Chromatosis

My head has blinders permanently fastened to it.
It stops me from seeing the way you see.

My brain is filled with rocks and mortar.
It stops me from thinking the way you think.

There is a leash around my heart.
It prevents me from feeling the way you feel.

The world is robbed of beauty and magic for me, life a little more mysterious, love a little more hollow. And yet when we go to bed, I'm not the one wondering if the world will still be around tomorrow.
